Joint Leafleting Campaign at the Three Main Party Conferences
4/08/11
The General Secretary of Public Service Pensioners' Council, Andrew Morris, has written to the NARF General Secretary to advise him that, as part of the ongoing work of the campaigning group, set up to seek to restore the indexation link to the Retail Prices Index, the PSPC is intending to take part in a joint lobby of the three main party conferences.
The alliance of the Council, Civil Service Pensioners' Alliance (CSPA), National Pensioners'
Convention (NPC), Occupational Pensioners' Alliance (OPA) and Age UK will be leafleting all three main party conferences, principally about the switch to Consumer Prices Index but also about the broader issues affecting pensioners.
The conferences are being held as follows.
- Liberal Democrat: Birmingham, Saturday 17 September - Wednesday 21 September
- Labour: Liverpool, Sunday 25 September - Thursday 29 September
- Conservative: Manchester, Sunday 2 October - Wednesday 5 October
The actual date and time of the lobbies is yet to be decided but in the meantime it would be useful if retired members of Constituent Organisations, particularly in the areas where the conferences are taking place, could be alerted in order to plan for attendance. Further information will be circulated as soon as possible.
If you would like to attend any of the lobbies, please inform NARF General Secretary, John Littleton who is constructing a list of national volunteers.
